Swan Necklace

Swans symbolise love or fidelity because of their long-lasting, monogamous relationships. They famously mate for life, and typically bond even before they reach sexual maturity.

The Northern Hemisphere species of swan have pure white feathers, but the Southern Hemisphere species are mixed black and white. Black swans are widely scattered throughout Australia, New Zealand and on the Chatham Islands.

In ancient times it was believed that black swans did not exist. After black swans were discovered, the metaphor “black swan” came about, which refers to an event that is unexpected and has an unforeseen significance.
