Kowhai Necklace

The kowhai is a tree native to New Zealand, and the blooms of kowhai are regarded as New Zealand’s unofficial national flower. The kowhai flower is bright yellow, and in fact kowhai is the Maori word for yellow.

The kowhai is said to signify personal growth and helps people to move on from the past with a renewed sense of adventure. The plant was believed to have remarkable healing properties and was used to treat skin problems, wounds, diseases and even broken bones.
